In this paper, we reflect on the scenario of museums and memory institutions and their interfaces with curriculum of the Specialization course in Museology, Culture and Education, based on the Sociomuseology, offered by the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) , in the context of Continuing Education. The aim is to understand some of the skills and competences required of professionals in the contemporary field of museums, in order to highlight the expansion of museological functions and practices and emphasize the contemporary museum as a locus of teaching, research and extension that enables appropriation of cultural, social and political phenomena. The discussion is permeated by research that combine the daily work experiences of museums, their impacts on the relationship with learning, the exercise of teaching at different levels and educational and interdisciplinary museological practices.

Keywords : sociomuseology; curriculum; museology; culture; education.
