NASCIMENTO, Angela Cristina Bulhões do; BEZERRA, Waldez Cavalcante  and  CALHEIROS, David dos Santos. Occupational therapy curriculums in Northeast public universities:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.1, pp.415-443.  Epub May 06, 2022. Introduction: Occupational therapy is recognized as a profession from the health, education and social fields, however, the National Curriculum Guidelines do not prioritize how such fields should be approached throughout university curricula. Goal: To analyze the emphasis of the social and educational fields in programs on universities from the northeast of Brazil. Methodology: This is qualitative, descriptive, and documentary research that has utilized the programs of four universities from the northeast of Brazil as a source. Results: The institutions propose a generalist formation, and the inclusion of the social and educational fields is not unanimous. When present they are not always mandatory disciplines and with limited practice and internship offerings, thus, weakening the formation.

Keywords : occupational therapy; professional formation; curriculum.
