Educational reforms underway since 1990s, have promoted structural changes, mainly with an emphasis and intensification in the policy of large-scale assessments. Schools and teachers play a key role in driving the process of children who perform the tests, so that the institutions reach the educational quality goals established by the policies. In this work we will present data from a research carried out with the participation of children from de 5th years of elementary school in a public school in the municipality of São Miguel dos Campos, in the State of Alagoas, who are taking the Prova Brasil. The investigation has a qualitative approach, from the Case Study and Discourse Analysis of Michel Foucault, seeking to observe the pastoral power and what kind of technologies are mobilizes institutionally and the teaching role with children, leading them to the purposes of Prova Brasil.
