RODRIGUES, Cíntia Régia  and  MAILER, Valéria Contrucci de Oliveira. The professional development of high school teachers:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.2, pp.717-734.  Epub Nov 21, 2022. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2022v20i2p717-734.

This article presents analyzes undertaken of the results of a study that sought to build an overview of the professional development of teachers in the state public school system in a municipality in Santa Catarina. Anchored inImbernón (2011) andNóvoa (1992), professional development is related to a set of factors that are linked to the personal development of the individual teacher. The data were collected from a questionnaire distributed to teachers. Thus, the work aims to reflect on several aspects that make up the professional development of teachers, such as: the profile, initial and continuing education, teaching practices and the understanding of curricular documents. The results point to a mismatch between training and teaching practices, as well as the absence of public career policies, continuing education and better working conditions.

Keywords : professional development; teaching; high school.
