Abstract

VELANGA, Carmen Tereza; BOSQUE JUNIOR, Carlos Alberto  and  MOREIRA, Melissa Velanga. Possible (im) dialogues:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.2, pp.735-758.  Epub Nov 21, 2022. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2022v20i2p735-758.

The objective is to reflect on the role of the Arts teacher in High School and the new National Common Curriculum Base in teaching practice. The research has a descriptive qualitative approach, the subjects are art teachers, students, and community members. Self-narratives, interviews, and documentary records in the period 2019-2020, in a Federal Institute on the Brazil-Bolivia border. Theoretical contributions are in the studies of Curriculum, Coloniality, and Art Teaching. The narrative brings the prejudices suffered and the penalties for free artistic production in the institution. Results indicate the growth of censorship and intolerance to freedom of expression and teaching; an uncritical curriculum linked to the obligation to reproduce standardized knowledge; official speeches and documents assuming the opposite.

Keywords : curriculum; high school; the teaching of art; decoloniality.
