Taking as a starting point the central question of where/how to educate professors for higher education, this paper aims to reflect and dialogue on two initiatives carried out to guide such professor education and to document the project of a university that proposed to take on the challenge of carrying out the professor education for higher education through the Stricto Sensu Master's and Doctoral Program. In order to do so, we resort to the a posteriori elaboration of a situation of participant observation and to bibliographic and documental research. The research is based on Martins (1993),Gimeno Sacristán (2000),Masetto (2010,2018),Freitas (2016) and on LDB 9394/96 and documents such as the CVs of researchers, participants in the project studied, registered on the Lattes Platform and data collected on the website of the Forpec Research Group. It presents as results the stages and productions carried out throughout the existence of this project.
