The idea of own identity of undergraduate teaching training degree courses, expressed in the National Curricular Guidelines for teaching in Basic Education, in higher education level, is the object of this research. The analysis of Resolutions CNE/CP no. 1/2002, CNE/CP no. 2/2002, CNE/CP no. 2/2015 and CNE/CP no. 2/2019 structures the construction of the text, since they are guiding documents of teacher training in Brazil. The documental analysis constituted the basic methodological tool, based on the theoretical perspectives ofAguiar e Dourado (2019),Bazzo e Scheibe (2019) eSilva (2010). The documents revealed that the proposed identity of the undergraduate teaching training degree courses has changed according to the historical context and the political scenario in which these Resolutions are inserted.
