In the contemporary context, we need to develop methods for the use of digital technologies by the discipline of History, since there are few studies on this topic. This article analyzed the evaluation possibilities and evidence of historical awareness with digital storytelling in podcast, produced during a dynamic of formative evaluation in a discipline of History of Education in Brazil, taught to a class of Pedagogy. It was a qualitative study, based on the case study method, whose data were interpreted through content analysis. at the end of the study, we were able to confirm the potential of a dynamic of formative assessment based on the production of digital storytelling in podcast. This favored the evaluation of the development of substantive concepts, seeing evidence of historical awareness in the productions and favoring the creation, by students, of a narrative representation about of the historical contexts studied.
