This work aims to understand the production processes of three official state curricula of Ceará for the subject Biology, formulated in 1992, 2000 and 2009. It dialogues with the theoretical assumptions of critical curriculum theories and the history of school subjects. It is a qualitative research, which relates documentary sources and oral sources, interviewing authors and coordinators of these official curricula. The analysis was subsidized by the Textual Discursive Analysis (TDA). The increasing participation of public-school teachers in the construction of state curricula was identified. In some cases, the names of these teachers were omitted or there were tensions in the formulation of the proposals, due to the different curricular thoughts and power relationships between the subgroups that helped to produce the curricula.
