Abstract

MARTINS JUNIOR, Luiz; MARTINS, Rosa Elisabete Militz Wypyczynski  and  DIAS, Julice. And now, how is it?. e-Curriculum [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.3, pp.1392-1414.  Epub Jan 02, 2023. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2022v20i3p1392-1414.

This text deals with a bibliographic-documentary research focusing on the analysis of the BNCC of High School. It aims to point out some reflections and problematize the discipline of Geography in High School from the 2018 BNCC proposal. Its emblematic issue is the reductionist way in which BNCC treats the field of Geography, making this area of knowledge diffuse among others, in the broad spectrum of Applied Human and Social Sciences and their Technologies. It problematizes the set of concepts, contents, skills and competences proposed in the BNCC text, which aims to prepare students for the job market, thus impoverishing their training and integral development. In this sense, Geography as a science that has the role of developing thinking and spatial reasoning was one of the curricular components that lost its protagonism and scientific character, with the emptying of the contents and concepts founding in geographic knowledge.
