Abstract

BLANDY, Beatriz  and  DOWBOR, Ladislau. Impacts of financialization of Brazilian education:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.4, pp.1848-1877.  Epub Jan 30, 2023. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2022v20i4p1848-1877.

In this critical and exploratory essay, aspects of the recent structural reconfiguration of private Brazilian education are mapped, relating it to the inflow of international capital, the strengthening of large educational groups and the financialization of the sector. Based on the central and transforming role of education in social and political macro scenarios, broader developments are pointed out, such as the perpetuation and deepening of Brazilian structural inequality. As a theoretical reference, education scholars who wrote on this topic were adopted and it is based on the vision of economists and managers, proposing a multidimensional view of the phenomenon. Thus, the aim is to articulate views and references on a recent process underway, building parameters for monitoring this process, proposing paths and methodologies for this line of investigation.

Keywords : basic education; privatization; financialization; inequality.
