This article analyzed perceptions about fake news by Portuguese Language teachers from the State Education Network of Vale do Jiquiriçá/Bahia, since fake news emerges as a resource for the outbreak of an informational war and becomes a tool through which it is observed a process of deliberate disinformation of society. The objective was to know the understanding of teachers about fake news, to assess whether and how fake news is discussed at school, to identify curricular and pedagogical strategies used by educators in the discussion of the theme. A qualitative and quantitative approach was used, using a mixed online questionnaire as a data collection instrument. In the results, we identified teachers with misunderstandings about fake news and the use of limiting means in fact-checking, as well as important successes in the curricular approach.
