Abstract

CASALI, Alípio Márcio Dias  and  UCHOA, Márcia Maria Rodrigues. Curriculum and Frontiers: intertexts. e-Curriculum [online]. 2023, vol.21, e58786.  Epub June 30, 2023. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2023v21e58786.

The article aims to problematize the discussion about frontiers in its intersection with the curriculum. It starts from the consideration of the experiences and the consequent debate about frontiers, pressing in the current context, given the frequency and drama of the displacement of individuals and groups and the heterogeneous formation of social spaces, which reverberate in the construction of fluid identities and in permanent construction, impacting social relations, especially in curricular training environments. This is a bibliographical research, having as main references the contributions of José de Souza Martins (2018), Boaventura de Sousa Santos (1994, 2003, 2010), Stuart Hall (2014, 2015), Homi Bhabha (2013) among others. The analytical hypothesis according to which the cultural frontiers that permeate the curriculum should constitute opportunities for cultural negotiation is explored, from an intercultural perspective, taking the irreducibility of alterity/otherness as an ethical principle of educational action.

Keywords : curriculum; culture; frontiers; otherness; interculturality.
