Abstract

SECATTI, Keysa Katiere Garcia  and  GUIMARAES, Lucelia Tavares. Gender and curricular justice:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2023, vol.21, e57103.  Epub Dec 15, 2023. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2023v21e57103.

The article promotes a discussion about the challenge of developing a critical curriculum amid the Brazilian neoconservative context. For this, the final version of the Common National Curriculum Base (2017) is taken as an object of analysis and compares before and after the suppression of the words gender and sexual orientation to problematize it in the educational context. The methodology used for the analysis combines Marxist-inspired texts and critical studies of the curriculum to project the impact of curriculum development on the formation of individuals, in addition to the connections between power and knowledge in the curriculum permeated by the critical-social theory of feminism by Nancy Fraser. It is concluded that the removal of references to gender and sexual orientation contributes to the helplessness and difficulty of institutions in promoting collective awareness and social transformation legitimized through official documents.

Keywords : curriculum; gender; curricular justice.
