This article analyzes the process of writing an academic memorial (for the purpose of career advancement), from a two-stage record. For that, it uses the ricoeurian hermeneutics, suggesting cuts between the idem-identity (sameness) and ipse-identity (ipseity). The article is structured between the time that covers the meaning of this narrative construction from the experiences-memories of the author of the text and the time that covers the meanings of the evaluation, from the narrative of those who read and evaluated it. This effort to understand the self and the other does not stop being crossed by the search for recognition, reflected in a process of docimology among peers. It is in this game of mutual recognition that we write in two moments, knowing that the individual is nothing, while he is for himself.
