Abstract

RANGEL, Leonardo; TOJA, Noale  and  RODRIGUES, Juliana. Disciplining chairs and undisciplined curricula:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2023, vol.21, e59625.  Epub Feb 26, 2024. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2023v21e59625.

The chair, as an artifact of class distinction, as a functional device with implications for the creation of the “soul”, as an artifact of disciplining bodies, is in the conditioning of domination of a vigilant, indoctrinating, torturing and punitive system. Thus, in this article, we intend to bring the chair to the center and to the margins of the conversation about the processes of disciplinarization and control of bodies, and we propose the displacement to “feelingdoingthinking” other curricular ways with everyday life. It is a conversation in a “terreiro” [place of worship], a dirt floor, in the schoolyard, in the floodplain field and wherever else our imagination takes us. It is shared knowledge, in a circle where we experiment with squatting; after all, nobody knows what a body can do.

Keywords : chairs; disciplinary models; everyday curricula.
