Abstract

BASEIO, Maria Auxiliadora Fontana  and  VELASCO, Cristiane Del Nero. Lives in self-writting:. e-Curriculum [online]. 2023, vol.21, e59685.  Epub Feb 26, 2024. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2023v21e59685.

The mythical theme of “rebirthing” is recurrent in children's spontaneous playing. Simbolically, it could mean life-and-death experiences. This autobiographical narrative research, from an interdisciplinary perspective, intends to reflect on the experience lived by the researcher as a teacher in two kindergarten schools in the western region of São Paulo. The study emphasizes the spontaneous playing as a pedagogical practice to be curricularly recognized as relevant to children's development and discusses meanings built by children in the playful activity. The theoretical basis focuses on authors from the Circle of Eranos, such as Gilbert Durand, Joseph Campbell and Mircea Eliade. Early childhood educators need to value the spontaneous experience of playing, opening channels for the child's imaginary expressions capable of promoting their formation and healthy development.

Keywords : autobiographical research; narrative; teaching; mythical theme of “rebirthing; imaginary.
