Production of meanings in the BNCC and BNC-Formação: attempts at control via competencies. e-Curriculum [online]. 2024, vol.22, e65717. Epub Sep 23, 2024. The article focuses on the discourse that constitutes the basic education curriculum as a reference for the Common National Base for Initial Teacher Training (BNC-Formação) and the meanings that this articulation addresses to teachers and teaching. The analysis is guided by the post-structural perspective of curriculum and the appropriations of the Political Theory of Discourse by this field, with the intention of problematizing the discursive effects of the centrality of the essential learning of basic education students in the teacher training policy: the homology of processes and the professional competences of the teacher to achieve the adequate performance to make learning happen. The (impossible) desire for total control of contextual curricular production is highlighted, arguing that in the name of equality and equity in education, curricular centralization ends up producing the exclusion of difference.
