POTTMEIER, Sandra; CAETANO, Marta Helena Cúrio de; FERRI, Cássia e FISCHER, Adriana. Curriculum: Reading and Writing Practices in the New High School. e-Curriculum [online]. 2024, vol.22, e61414. Epub 29-Jul-2024. ISSN 1809-3876. https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2024v22e61414.
This article seeks to understand what students of the first year of New High School at a public school in Santa Catarina say about reading and writing practices in the school sphere. The methodology is a qualitative ethnographic approach, which analyzes students' speeches, in relation to what is proposed in the curriculum of the Santa Catarina public network, with support from a dialogical perspective of language and literacy studies. The results showed that the curriculum includes human and comprehensive training. However, it is in the words of the students that literacy practices, in digital media, have still been underdeveloped at school, in part, due to the difficulty of accessing the internet and the little use of digital tools. It is considered that, despite some advances, there are structural and teacher training barriers regarding the use of digital technologies in New High School.
