Abstract

SOUSA, Tamires Brandão de Siqueira e  and  GALINDO, Wedna Cristina Marinho. Psychologists to meet demands: training for SUS in pedagogical projects of private institutions in Pernambuco. e-Curriculum [online]. 2024, vol.22, e59602.  Epub July 29, 2024. This research discusses the formation of psychologists for the Brazilian Universal Healthcare System (SUS) by private college-level institutions in the state of Pernambuco. The material under analysis is constituted by the Courses' Pedagogical Projects (PPC) of five institutions. The Critical Discourse Analysis bases the analytical work of the PPCs, which involved: identification of PPC excerpts through words such as SUS, system, healthcare and policies; ordering of excerpts according to analytical criteria; discussion. The education in Psychology is defined by market logic, moreover with the commitment with meeting demands. It is discussed the presence of the neoliberal ideology in this education, according to which healthcare would be a commodity and not a fundamental right.

Keywords : psychology; SUS; pedagogical projects.
