The text addresses the relationship between environmental education, from a critical theoretical perspective and the environmental conflicts that exist in Latin America, bringing theoretical contributions to emancipatory/liberating, interdisciplinary and anti-systemic practice organized in three moments: in the introduction, it will go through the debate on education, thought of as an ontological process that dialectically determines the society-nature metabolism. In the second section, it develops the category of environmental conflicts, as a requirement of the capitalist mode of production, whose element is part of the process of destroying nature, where we will see that these aspects of environmental conflicts are reflected in the horizon of the process of coloniality of power. Finally, it explains how the social struggles of workers, native peoples and traditional peoples are constituted with a view to liberation/emancipation, explaining the contribution of critical environmental education to these emancipatory struggles.
