Abstract

This article presents the results of a qualitative study aimed at analyzing the implementation of the Curriculum for Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and its connections with teaching practices and teacher training for educators working in the Elementary Education level of a public school in the municipality of São Paulo. The central research problem relates to issues concerning public education policies, the profile of students, teacher training, and the curriculum of the São Paulo Municipal Department of Education. The methodological procedures included document analysis and interviews with school administrators currently in office at the research site. The findings emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary teacher training, grounded in the concept of reflective teaching, while considering the cultural and identity-related issues present in the daily lives of EJA students.
