This article aims to problematize the issue of race in the school curriculum, through anti-racist children's literature, questioning stereotypical colonial practices about Afro-Brazilians. The study was guided by the question: how do the playfulness and constructive criticism present in children's literature contribute to learning about race at school? This is interventional research, with post-critical methodology characteristics and a theoretical-philosophical approach based on Derrida (2004a) and Wittgenstein (1999), in dialogue with Meyer and Paraíso (2012). Students, teachers and the management team from a municipal primary school took part. Conversation circles, reading workshops and puppet theatre were held. The results show that the interventions promoted the combat racism and expand the anti-racist literature use in the school curriculum.
