This article presents a study aimed at analyzing how the schooling process of deaf students takes place in regular high schools. The research problem is defined as follows: How does the schooling process of deaf students in high school occur from the perspective of these students? The research was based on qualitative aspects, from a post-structuralist perspective. The empirical material, derived from narrative interviews, was organized into thematic groupings, considering the most relevant and recurring elements, and analyzed through Discourse Analysis with a Foucauldian approach. The locus of the research consisted of three high schools in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, with deaf students enrolled in the second semester of 2021. The students’ narratives revealed that the school is conceived based on the hearing model.
