Resumen

CORTEZ, Jucelino  y  PINO, José Claudio Del. The relationship between the STS approach and the Guidelines of the Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum. e-Curriculum [online]. 2025, vol.23, e64676.  Epub 10-Jul-2025. ISSN 1809-3876.  https://doi.org/10.23925/1809-3876.2025v23e64676.

This article presents the development and results of a qualitative, bibliographic, and documentary research conducted on the “Base Nacional Comum Curricular” (the Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum), aiming to unveil the relationship between the main guidelines of this document-particularly those related to High School-and the propositions of the Science-Technology-Society (STS) approach in the teaching of Natural Sciences, based on the studies of Ziman (1980) and Aikenhead (1994). The data were analyzed through the Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) procedure. After this stage, it was possible to unveil points of convergence, such as the emphasis on contextualization and interdisciplinarity, as well as points of divergence, such as the role attributed to science, the focus on citizenship education, and the pursuit of competency-based learning.

Palabras clave : STS approach; high school; Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum; Natural Sciences; discursive textual analysis.
