Abstract

This paper aims to present an analysis of the production of the Brazilian postgraduate programs in the educational policy area. Therefore, information from 1,305 theses and dissertations found at CAPES database produced in the 2000-2010 period was collected. From this survey and having as reference similar researches, it was observed that the theme “State, its actions and policies” is still the most researched one, keeping past trends. It was observed that the production of postgraduate education is concentrated in the Southeast region, followed by the Southern region, the Midwest, and Northeast and North. Finally, two trends were identified in the area: a few programs and mentors  concentrate large numbers of works and several research lines divide the remaining of the production, not being identified as references to the area.
