Abstract

GAWRYSZEWSKI, Bruno; MOTTA, Vânia Cardoso da  and  PUTZKE, Camila Kipper. Private management of public schools of Basic Education: a new market under the auspices of the State. Práxis Educativa [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.3, pp.728-748. ISSN 1809-4309.  https://doi.org/10.5212/PraxEduc.v.12i3.003.

This paper aims to present the private management of public schools of Basic Education as one of the pillars that support a private-market agenda in the Brazilian contemporary field, based on the belief of greater efficiency and quality in order to ensure equal opportunity to all. The theoretical and methodological approach was the analysis of the current Brazilian situation included in the structural crisis of the capital, followed by the examination of private management in American schools, known as charter schools, and initiatives for the education networks in Brazil. We conclude by stating that the private management of public schools can be seen as a resource to prevent the cyclical crises of capital, which has opened up new market opportunities in the education field under the auspices of the Brazilian state.
