This text aims to reflect on the educational and training process on ethnic racial relations, gender and education in non-school spaces of black women who participate in courses offered at a non-governmental institution in Feira de Santana, state of Bahia, Brazil, and the experience and performance of the author of this text as a popular educator, the experiences and textures built with women who participate in training and educational spaces promoted by the institution. It is considered as theoretical contribution of this reflection the studies about the Black Movement, the Black Women Movement, Paulo Freire and bell hooks’s thinking, who point out that education can be a locus and a path for the practice of freedom. The discussion presented here dialogues with the struggle processes of the Social Movements, the fight against coloniality projects and the implementation of an education that promotes social justice and equity.
