RODRIGUES, Sirlene  e  LOPES, Carlos. The silence of the PNLD and textbooks on cyberplagiarism. Práxis Educativa [online]. 2023, vol.18, e21432.  Epub 10-Maio-2023. ISSN 1809-4309.  https://doi.org/10.5212/praxeduc.v.18.21432.014.

The cyber theft of ideas has never been so poignant, thus configuring plagiarism or cyberplagiarism, when the student appropriates information from cyberspace to carry out his/her school tasks, without giving credit to the author of the work. In this sense, this article analyzes the treatment that textbooks for the 3rd grade of High School and the Programa Nacional do Livro e do Material Didático (PNLD) [National Program for the Book and Teaching Material] in Brazil give to the theme of plagiarism in correlation with internet research. The thematic-categorial Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2011) was performed in 12 textbooks and in the PNLD 04/2015 Public Notice. Only three books warn students not to copy from the internet and none of them deal with plagiarism. Thus, the issue of plagiarism is not integrated into textbook guidelines. The lack of guidance on the subject and its insufficiency is one more element that can encourage plagiarism in more advanced stages of knowledge. To neglect plagiarism prevention and orientations is also to encourage ethical opacity, compromising academic integrity.
