RODRIGUEZ-PARRA, Mery et al. Comprehensive Sexual Education in Early Childhood: a necessary approach for the social organization of care. Práxis Educativa [online]. 2025, vol.20, e24620. Epub Sep 30, 2025. ISSN 1809-4309. https://doi.org/10.5212/praxeduc.v.20.24620.068.
This study examines Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) in early childhood education as an essential approach for the well-being of children and care. It explores how teaching and the practice of care are integrated into the daily routines of educators and assistant. Methodologically, it employs a qualitative and ethnographic approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and participant observation in six educational centres across three regions of Chile. A total of 30 interviews and 72 observations were conducted, with data analysed through thematic axes, combining both deductive and inductive coding.
The results reveal that participants incorporate aspects of CSE to address care, including the perspective of rights, self-care, boundaries, and intimacy; the care of the body, affectivity, relationships, and the expression of emotions. It concludes that CSE from early childhood presents an opportunity to transform the social organisation of care and promote a more inclusive, respectful, and equitable society.
