Abstract

GUILHERME, Regina Aparecida Messias  and  MANDALOZZO, Silvana Souza Netto. The world of work from the perspective of those born in liquid times: a didactic sequence with High School students. Práxis Educativa [online]. 2025, vol.20, e24663.  Epub Sep 30, 2025. ISSN 1809-4309.  https://doi.org/10.5212/praxeduc.v.20.24663.051.

This article is grounded in Bauman’s theoretical framework and presents an account of extension experiences aimed at articulating practices related to understanding the fluidity of the contemporary world of work. The analysis focuses on high school interns, the so-called “born in liquid times” - as defined by Bauman and Leoncini (2018) -, who are engaged in work activities at the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) and participating in the extension course “Intercultural Textual Productions,” amid this context of intense liquidity. A didactic sequence (Silva; Catão; Silva, 2020), consisting of ten classes, was implemented, involving the reading and interpretation of verbal and non-verbal texts, with a focus on the “uberization” of work and the future of professions. The results are part of a triangulation between research, teaching, and extension, considering the latter as the setting for a process established in light of work and education as social phenomena.
