The paper presented here is focused on the theme “Beginning Teachers” and tries to overview the theoretic-methodological foundations which researches dedicated to this theme have used. In the course of its development, the studies presented at the ANPED meetings of 2005, 2006 and 2007 (Work Groups #04, #08 and #14) have been analyzed. After the research, it was possible to infer that these researches mostly used a qualitative approach and involved different techniques and forms of data analysis, not being observed, in its systematizations, indications of the research approach related to the critical-dialectic perspective founded on historical materialism.
