This work presents the results of a study, the goal of which was to check a document’s circulation and use at a public school in Juiz de Fora. Such document had been produced in a previous study and its central axis is text genres under the perspective of SDI (Bronckart, 1999; Schneuwly e Dolz, 2004). We adopted exploratory research as a methodological tool, choosing semi-structured interviews as the instrument for data collection. After analysis of the data, we perceived a gap in the faculty’s education in what refers to language teaching, as well as a high demand for some “counseling” time that could contribute towards teachers’ continuous education.
