Abstract

D´AVILA, Cristina Maria  and  LEAL, Luiz Batista. University teaching and teacher training - educational knowledge and generation of teacher professionalism. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2015, vol.21, n.45, pp.467-485. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.2015/lcv21n45.0012.

This qualitative exploratory research is aimed at understanding the relations involving mediation through teaching in a university context. It seeks to identify whether and how teachers define educational knowledge, and how they apply it in the development of professionalism in future licensed teachers. The data were collected through a survey applied to professors from two courses: education and music. The main results show that: a) professors share critical conceptions of education; b) professors do not clearly recognize the educational knowledge they mobilize, and have an incipient understanding of what it is to teach professionalism.

Keywords : University Teaching; Teacher Training; Educational Knowledge; Teachers' Professionalism.
