Abstract

ROSA, Sandra Valéria Limonta  and  SANTOS, Willian Batista dos. Teaching and quality of basic education: criticism of the World Bank guidelines. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2015, vol.21, n.46, pp.665-687. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.2015/lcv21n46.665.

This article presents a critical analysis of the document "Achieving world-class education in Brazil: next steps", produced by the World Bank in 2010 with the goal of setting priorities for the Brazilian educational policy, emphasizing the issues relating to training and teaching. It is here a clipping from a literature that analyzes the proposals by the World Bank for education in developing countries and how these policies have directly affected the Brazilian education guidelines. For us, the incorporation of such guidelines has intensified the already precarious working conditions and also the teacher ongoing training.
