The article reports the experience of students involved in a project that focuses on self-care, aiming, through this, to promote the health of teachers in a municipal school network. Before going to the field, the students experienced training related to self-care, elaborating experiences and knowledge involved in the process. With this perspective, it can be seen that previous preparation in the formative aspect, when developing care projects, shows a possibility to exercise diverse ways of concern and occupation with oneself, as well as to train critical and reflexive learners, for a more conscious action and significant.
