As an outcome from a Ph.D. research (UFMG/ 2016), this article emerges from several inquiries and issues present in one of the author´s professional practices to face knowledge in different epistemic fields: a history of Psychiatric standards, The Clinics of Labor and the practices in Mental Health in the context of the Psychiatry Reform. Having as a research field one of the substitutive services of the Network of Psychosocial Care (RAPS) based in Betim/MG, CAPS III - Reference Center on Mental Health (CERSAM) Betim Central -, a case has been analyzed and a professional gesture has been bounded and discussed. In summary we present a synthesis of the professional gesture concept at three levels of complexity.
