In this article we present theoretical-methodological backgrounds of the Teaching - Orienteering Activity based on Leontievian thesis that activity is the agent of the materiality of life of any subject. Initially we approach school education in the perspective of a human creation, in response to the need of preserving and socializing culture. In analyzing the constitutive elements of the Teaching - Orienteering Activity, anchored in the cultural-historical theory, we seek to demonstrate how it is configured in a mode of organizing teaching so that schooling process can promote human development in its maximum potentiality.
