Abstract

HERNANDEZ-CARRERA, Rafael M.; BAUTISTA-VALLEJO, José M.  and  VIEIRA-FERNANDEZ, Ignacio. Towards the Learning Society. Analysis of ICTs and educational skills. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2020, vol.26, e31179.  Epub July 30, 2020. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc.v26.2020.31179.

In this article, we analyze elements of educational reforms from the 1990s, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in education, and the adoption of a competence-based teaching-learning model. The objectives of this article are to analyze these elements related to the aforementioned reforms and propose a series of key principles to guide teaching towards a learning society. We conclude that school-based educational institutions can be considered, in their nature and mode of operation, institutions characteristic of modernity, whose students, however, present and demand features of post-modernity.
