Abstract

LIMA, Carlos Eduardo de; RODRIGUES, Caio César Coelho  and  PEREIRA, Jussara Jéssica. Replicate, publish and perish: academic productivity on Management field in Brazil. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2020, vol.26, e33889.  Epub Nov 04, 2020. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc.v26.2020.33889.

The purpose of this essay is to understand the Management scientific production in Brazil as a commodity. Considering Marxist thinking, we described a parallel between the concepts of labour and merchandise in Marx that helped us to reflect on research and national scientific publication. Since debates considering the intersections between academic productivism, autonomy of intellectual thought and international mimicry are still scarce, we brought up a discussion on Management in Brazil, its paradoxes, and its weaknesses. The main contribution of this essay is to bring a critical perspective to continue the discussion on academic productivity.

Keywords : Academic production; Critical Theory; Administration; Merchandise.
