This paper presents how teachers perceive changes in work conditions, assuming precariousness and considering the scenario from the 1990s, considering the specificities of public and private HEIs in Salvador/BA and the primary data collected was analyzed through the Discourse of the Collective Subject. It was noticed that after the managerial reform, where the University assumed the hegemonic logic, the discourse becomes unique. Thus, there was disengagement in relation to a shared world that prevents the creation of lasting bonds, favoring the obsolescence of values ​​such as responsibility, respect and solidarity on the part of the teachers analyzed.
