This article analyzes the role of the Educational Advisor in relation to the political and social functions of the school and its formation, and how it relates to the demands arising from his career. We conducted semi-structured interviews with twenty educational advisors from the public school system in the Federal District; bibliographic reviews of documents from the State Department of Education and publications in the Google Scholar, Scielo and Portal de Periódicos da Capes databases, using the keywords: “educational advisor” and “training” as a filter. As a theoretical basis, authors like Bicudo (1978), Pascoal et al. (2008), Grinspun (2011) and Curado Silva (2019).
