Abstract

LOURENCO GOMES, Claudia  and  ANDRADE TORALES-CAMPOS, Marília. Espinosa: the lens polishing philosopher and environmental education. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2021, vol.27, e36943.  Epub July 08, 2021. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc27202136943.

By establishing a dialogue between the contributions of Philosophy and the field of education, the aim is to bring the thought of Baruch de Espinosa or Benedictus de Spinoza (1632-1677) closer to the debates in the field of Environmental Education (EE). In his contributions, he developed a philosophy in which he intended to polish the human lens, bringing deep reflections on the existence and its relations with the environment. Espinosa's philosophy has an illuminating potential that can bring subsidies to the EA and mobilize an educational practice capable of leading the subjects to act critically and to overcome the social relations that put the humanity in crisis.

Keywords : Philosophy; Education; Espinosa; Environmental Education.
