Abstract

REIS, Ludimila Maria da Silva  and  NOGUEIRA, Marlice de Oliveira e. Transition to elementary school II: what brazilian research says. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2021, vol.27, e37594.  Epub Sep 29, 2021. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc27202137594.

This paper presents a bibliographic research that analyzed school and social factors associated with student performance in the transition from 5th to 6th grade. The results indicate that there are several factors that affect students in school transition, such as entering adolescence, adapting to a new school culture, the change from monoteaching to pluridocency, the demands of school subjects, the fragmentation of times and spaces, and the relationships between students and teachers. Although such factors are commonly present in schooling pathways, they affect each student with greater or lesser intensity, and it is not possible to infer a pattern of experienced school situation.
