Abstract

MOREIRA OLIVEIRA, Igor Thiago  and  LEAO, Geraldo. Horizons of the struggle for universal public transport: the experience of Tarifa Zero. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2021, vol.27, e36336.  Epub Mar 31, 2021. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc.v27.2021.36336.

It presents the results of a research about the Tarifa Zero Collective in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The research path started from militant co-research as a methodological choice in dialogue with the participating research. The survey results point to a desire to participate in destinations and decision-making processes in relation to the city, focusing on public issues. Two elements were central to the young people's speeches: 1. The widening of the sensitivity about the destinations of the city, arising from the learning provided by the participatory experience; 2. The right to urban mobility associated with the democratization of public transport based on the collective action.

Keywords : Social Movements and Education; Political Participation; Youth; Tarifa Zero Movement.
