Abstract

VALDIVINO SILVA, Maria Gilvania. Political socialization and resocialization among former metalworkers in the ABC Paulista. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2021, vol.27, e36547.  Epub June 28, 2021. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc27202136547.

In this article we address educational processes related to politics, namely, processes of socialization and political resocialization experienced by workers living in a popular neighborhood, who were part of the metallurgical sector in ABC Paulista during the political and union movement of the "Great strikes". We are interested in understanding the impacts that the experience and the different levels of adhesion and participation in this movement exerted (and still do) on the learning, the understanding and the political participation of these workers throughout their lives. To this end, we analyze the biographies of two former metalworkers, residents of the neighborhood and who experienced the movement in question.

Keywords : Socialization; Political Socialization; Generations; ABC Paulista.
