Abstract

SABINO, Geruza; CALBINO, Daniel  and  LIMA, Izabel. A trajetória dos movimentos negros pela educação: conquistas e desafios. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2022, vol.28, e40739.  Epub Feb 14, 2022. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc28202240739.

This article aims to rescue the struggle of the black movements in the search for access to education. Through bibliographical research, systematized in a literature review in critical authors of the “official” historiography of education, the results show that the Brazilian Black Movements have been protagonists in the implementation of actions and approval of policies in education, since the mid-nineteenth century. Despite partial victories throughout history in the fight against epistemic racism, the current conservative shift still places, for black movements, the struggle to maintain acquired guarantees in the field of educational public policies.

Keywords : Formal education; Black Movements; Public policy.
