Abstract

MARCELINO, Karina; GONCALVES, Monica; HAMERSKI, Bruna  and  MORAES, Mário. Extension projects and social inclusion policies in Brazilian federal universities. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2022, vol.28, e41341.  Epub Mar 23, 2022. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc28202241341.

This article aims to investigate how universities are inserting social inclusion in their extension projects, based on exploratory research on extension projects at three federal universities in southern Brazil. Characterized as a quali-quantitative, documentary and exploratory study, this article pointed out as results the low or no representation of extension projects aimed at indigenous people, the elderly, the LGBTQIA+ population and the black population. Therefore, it is essential to expand the extension projects in the surveyed universities aimed at the aforementioned social groups so that, in fact, the university can establish itself as a democratic, plural and inclusive institution.

Keywords : Extension Projects; Public Policy; Social Inclusion; Representativeness; Public University.
