The assessment of learning and its conceptual (re)configurations have been accompanying political, educational and social transformations. Based on this situation, a study was carried out that aimed to map the Brazilian academic production of Doctoral Theses and Master's Dissertations, from 2006 to 2020, focused on the relationships between public education policies, conceptions and evaluation practices. The data point to influences exerted by international organizations in the definition of education policies, translated into the evaluation concepts postulated in official documents and, in the distance between what has been instituted, the conception and the effective practices.
