This paper presents a preliminary note on how the reception of religious diversity in the context of Catholic confessional education is manifested in social networks, using as a source, the comments on the Facebook page Pais Maristas em Defesa do Ensino Religioso. The analysis is based on the recognition of written culture in the context of the web and anchoring on Pierre Bourdieu's theories as the main epistemological basis, this study presents the posts and comments on that page as social practices that affect the field of education and the religious field, producing symbolic violence and tensioning disputes over positions and strategies of cultural domination.
